Downtown San Diego is in the southern part of the city, nestled against the San Diego Bay. Visitors arriving to San Diego by air will land downtown at the San Diego International Airport. The neighborhood is also serviced by several stops on the San Diego Trolley, which will take you to places like Old Town San Diego and Mission Valley. The boundaries of downtown are generally understood to be the San Diego Harbor in the south and Interstate 5 in the east and north, as the freeway wraps around both sides of the area. This neighborhood is largely filled with highrise condominium complexes and skyscrapers.
